Excellent for college groups when followed by discussion! College Spirits challenges the traditional methods of dealing with alcohol use and misuse by being different. It presents a story - a parody of 1950's propaganda films - about young college students of that era facing many of the same choices as today's youth. The focus on common experiences draws attention inward and encourages discussion of the message of the program. And discussion is the key element of the decision making process. College Spirits was rated 4th in a nation wide survey of substance abuse prevention programs conducted by members of the HELP Network Steering Committee. A student member of HELP said about the video: "Only a college audience can appreciate the satire found in this film. It is funny and a good chance to stimulate conversation."
